Swamp Talker Single Reed Duck Call
The Swamp Talker is a single reed duck call made with a walnut barrel and a vocal tube made from maple that's been dyed black. These calls easily produce great quacks and feeder calls, perfect for the new duck hunter but work really well for the experienced hunter as well.

I made the Swamp Talker single reed at the request of an avid duck hunter. I didn't want to do what a lot of call makers are doing and that is buy pre-tuned duck call parts and just make a barrel for them. So I ordered tone boards, reeds and wedges, then set out to design a vocal tube and barrel made from wood. It took some time to find the right combination of bore diameters, barrel length and vocal tube lengths to produce an easy to use duck call. I handed the finished prototype off to the person that requested it and he was able to limit out rather quickly using just the prototype.
