Swamp Talker Grey Ghost
This single reed duck call is made with a charcoal grey Spectraply barrel and a black dyed maple vocal tube. This call is very easy to operate and produces very realistic quacks, feeder calls and hails with very little air needed to operate.

Spectraply is a commercially made product consisting of thin strips of dyed birch inpregnated with resin and laminated under intense pressure.
I made the Swamp Talker single reed at the request of an avid duck hunter. I didn't want to do what a lot of call makers are doing and that is buy pre-tuned duck call parts and just make a barrel for them. So I ordered tone boards, reeds and wedges, then set out to design a vocal tube and barrel made from wood. It took some time to find the right combination of bore diameters, barrel length and vocal tube lengths to produce an easy to use duck call. I handed the finished prototype off to the person that requested it and he was able to limit out rather quickly using just the prototype.
